We are collaboratively working with our customers to create growth plans based on shopper centric innovations and activations. We continue to amplify our D2C brands tailored to align with shopper preferences, convenience, and evolving retail experience. To promote diverse assortment, elevate retailer engagement and accelerate retailers’ order frequency via our Shikhar app, we have significantly invested towards building enhanced functionalities which include loyalty programmes, superior analytics, best in class app features, AI led customised advertisements and customer relationship management tools.

Shikhar: Every retailer’s partner in excellence

Shikhar, our demand capturing application for eB2B, covers over 1.3 Mn stores and is used by over 70% of our Shakti partners (in rural villages) highlighting the ubiquitousness of digital adoption across the country. It has simplified placing orders and enhanced delivery service, empowering our retailers with flexibility and convenience. Shikhar also offers seamless credit facilities through tie-ups with banks.

HUL’s fulfilment frontier ‘Samadhan’

Pushing the boundaries of demand fulfilment, we introduced Samadhan to deliver goods directly from our warehouse to the retailer. The fulfilment process is optimised and tracked end-to-end with semi-automated picking, crate and warehouse management in the depot, optimisation of truck planning and last mile delivery when in transit, real-time delivery tracking, and integrated retailer order to cash cycle.

Our Shikhar app facilitated AI-led customised advertisements for retailers to increase shopper footfall in their stores. Using this facility, retailers generated multiple video advertisements for consumers to boost their sales.

Channels of the future

Our collaboration with organised retail and digital commerce customers is centred around creating growth plans that are driven by shopper-centric innovations and activations.

The joint business planning process enables the creation of Design For Channel (D4C) packs, customised activations, and shopper-soulmate-led market development activities across the Modern Trade channel. Our e-Commerce business grew rapidly, led by customised innovation and strong customer partnerships.

We focus relentlessly on comprehending emerging channels of the future by engaging with customers early. This collaborative approach fosters value co-creation, giving us a competitive edge.

Direct to Consumer (D2C)

We continue to amplify our D2C brands tailored to align with shopper preferences, convenience, and evolving retail experience. We also focused on creating capability in performance marketing to build and grow our brands digitally. Through our D2C business, we are reaching 19,000 pin codes, establishing a strong presence in the digital consumer space. By engaging directly with consumers online, we aim to provide customised solutions and elevate their shopping experiences.

Collaborating for a Clean Future

In 2023, we hosted a ‘Clean Future Summit’ to lead industry-wide commitments on sustainable practices around emissions across the value chain.

The event brought together high ranked government officials, top industry players, sustainability think tanks, global management consultancies and many others. Eighteen of our key partners signed the ‘Climate Pledge.’

During the event we also announced the successful scale up of low greenhouse gas emitting soda ash, a key ingredient for our laundry brands, in partnership with Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited.

Introducing Electric Vehicles in our distribution network

Furthering our approach of taking the customer along and driving innovation towards our net-zero ambition in our value chain, we have introduced EV's in our distribution network.

Today, our last mile network is powered by over 100 EVs.  We have a long, long way to go. But our journey so far motivates us, empowering us to navigate the uncharted terrain confidently. We will also continue to harness and explore Bio CNG, Hydrogen, and other green energy options as a fuel for our distribution network.
